The Association for Humanitarian Action and Sustainable Development (ACHDR) is a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) under Chadian law created in 2014 in Goz-Beida in the Sila Region (border area with Sudan / Darfur), in the following an in-depth reflection initiated by Chadian executives with various experiences in emergency management and development actions with the aim of stimulating social and economic change in Chad in general and in the East of the country in particular. In view of the tangible results that it has generated in the field thanks to the technical and financial support of several partners, in particular, the Government of the Republic of Chad through its sectoral Ministries, the Agencies of the United Nations System, international NGOs and National, it has benefited from double recognition as a National NGO. First by the NGO Directorate in 2016 then by the Ministry of Economy and Development Planning in 2019. ACHDR works for a Chad in which men and women from different backgrounds live in harmony, in the shelter of all forms of human conflict and natural disasters and mutually accept each other with respect for their ethnic, cultural and religious differences. Its mission is to rehabilitate people affected by conflicts and disasters through the strengthening of their technical and organizational capacities as well as the development of resilience actions with particular emphasis on advocacy and lobbying strategies. Overall, it aims to prevent conflicts and consolidate peace throughout Chad. More specifically, it is committed to providing quality humanitarian assistance to populations affected by human crises and natural disasters; Initiate and support actions contributing to strengthening the resilience of communities and local development; strengthen the learning and dissemination of good practices related to conflict prevention and peacebuilding issues.

A devoted advocate of human rights, civil liberties, and education – especially for girls from disadvantaged backgrounds – Mrs. Atta has built a legal and corporate career spanning over 25 years. As a lawyer, she handled high-profile and controversial human rights cases, representing young at-risk women. In her capacity as General Manager at Allan Woods Limited, she oversaw and spearheaded the development of the educational institution to bridge the gap in the area of professional development for Nigerian professionals.
Dr. Abiye M. Iruayenema is an expert sociocognitive research psychologist and strategic communications specialist. He is currently heads a mobile counselling and preventing violent extremism (PVE) initiative, which offers counselling in hard-to-reach traumatized communities in Maiduguri, Borno State. As an experienced academic and researcher, Dr. Iruayenama created vulnerability and needs assessments tools used for a UNICEF funded rehabilitation and reintegration programme for 1,500 Children Associated with Armed Groups. He has delivered several trainings revolving around self-care for humanitarian aid workers, social and emotional learning, as well as addressing psychological trauma in conflict zones.
